The Cohen family has been in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning wholesale industry since 1959 when Seymour Cohen founded The Star Supply Company at its original address on the corner of Olive Street and Water Street in New Haven, Connecticut. It was then that Seymour began building strong relationships with customers in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. This was accomplished by providing reliable, quality products and top-notch customer service. This created the foundation for the loyalty that The Star Supply Company still receives today.
In the 1960s, The Star Supply Company relocated to a larger warehouse and office space on State Street in New Haven. From there, Star Supply continued to grow by offering quality products, unmatched educational opportunities and technical assistance, as well as its first of many customer incentive programs, such as trips to tropical destinations. It was on one such incentive travel trip in 1978, that Seymour Cohen handed over the gavel of leadership to his son, Larry.

The Company continues to try and find proven products in related business areas to help its customer bases grow. This is evidenced by the Company's growth into the refrigeration market in the 1980's and into the hydronics market in the 1990's. In the 1990's, The Star Supply Company partnered with Trane and Weil-McLain as an independent distributor. Star Supply has continued to flourish in these partnerships because of the high-quality products and beneficial programs available.
Sensing the need for increased inventory to support our growing product lines, the need to ease the transition to a bar-coded warehouse, and the need to provide space for the Company to continue to grow for future generations, the Star Supply Company relocated in 2006. The Company's newest facility, conveniently located at 118 Gando Drive in New Haven near I-91 and I-95, offers 165,000 square feet of office, showroom, state-of-the-art learning center, and warehouse to best serve its customer base.
